Optimization of two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) system for protemics analysis of a radiation-resistant bacterium Micrococcus luteus SC1204

open access: yes四川大学学报. 自然科学版, 2016
The total proteins extracted from a radiation-resistant bacterium Micrococcus luteus SC1204 were separated by immobilized pH gradient-based two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE), and ImageMaster 2D Platinum 5.0 was applied to analyse 2-DE images ...

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

Silencing of juvenile hormone‐related genes through RNA interference leads to molt failure and high mortality in the spongy moth

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
The feasibility of using RNA interference to control the globally important quarantine pest, the spongy moth. Targeting genes related to JHs play an important role in the growth and development of insects. First, the open reading frames (ORFs) of Ldjhamt and Ldjheh were identified and characterized, and the target genes were cloned and double‐stranded ...

LsFAMeT and LsJHAMT coordinate JH biosynthesis to regulate fecundity in Laodelphax striatellus

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
The small brown planthopper (SBPH), Laodelphax striatellus, can trigger large‐scale outbreaks when encountering suitable habitats during migration due to their strong reproductive ability. This study investigated the role of juvenile hormone (JH) in regulating SBPH reproduction.

Mathematical theory of isoelectric focusing.

open access: yes, 1990
A mathematical model describing transient processes in isoelectric focusing (IEF) of M biprotic ampholytes is proposed. The problem consists of nonlinear partial differential equations and algebraic equations under nonlinear boundary conditions ...
