ISOENZYMES AND ONTOGENY

Biological Reviews, 1972
Summary1. In this review, representative data on the nature of enzyme multiplicity and the developmental progressions of multiple enzyme forms have been collected, and the significance of this material has been discussed in relation to gene involvement during tissue differentiation.2.

Isoenzymes of human phosphofructokinase

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1980
Human liver phosphofructokinase has been isolated in order to obtain antibodies against human liver phosphofructokinase. With the antiserum it could be shown in human liver that two types of phosphofructokinase exist with no subunits in common. Leucocytes, erythrocytes and kidney also possess the liver (L-) type subunit and a small amount of L-type is ...

Isoenzymes of the Human Epidermis

Archives of Dermatology, 1968
Further studies designed to clarify the isoenzymic forms of glycolytic enzymes within the human epidermis have revealed one protein (enzyme) with hexokinase activity, three with phosphoglucomutase activity, one with phosphohexose isomerase activity, five with aldolase activity, one with phosphoglycerate mutase activity, two with enolase activity, one ...

Lung Phosphodiesterase Isoenzymes

1993
The distinct phosphodiesterase isoenzyme activities in guinea-pig lung were identified and characterised. We demonstrate that protein kinase A catalyses the activation of lung Type V cyclic GMP phosphodiesterase. This occurs via a marked change in the Vmax for cyclic GMP hydrolysis.

Carcinoplacental isoenzyme antigens

Advances in Enzyme Regulation, 1973
Abstract A carcinoplacental isoenzyme antigen is defined as a catalytically active protein present in a tumor, whose antigenic sites are identical to that of a protein present in the placenta but not in any fetal tissue. A family of placental isoenzymes of alkaline phosphatase (the Regan isoenzyme, the Nagao isoenzyme and Regan variant isoenzyme) is ...

Peroxidase isoenzymes in Linum

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 1971
Isoenzymes of peroxidase were separated on acrylamide gels in 2 genotypes of Linum usitatissimum L. and their F 1, F 2 and first backcross progeny. Active extracts were obtained from homogenates of main stem tissue; activity was measured both before and after electrophoretic separation.
