In Vitro Propagation of Heliconia bihai (L.) L. from Zygotic Embryos Propagação In vitro de Heliconia bihai (L.) L. provenientes de embriões zigóticos

open access: yesActa Botânica Brasílica, 2010
The internal morphology of embryos from immature and mature fruits of Heliconia bihai (L.) L. cv. Lobster Claw Two was examined. Embryos were inoculated into MS media (full MS and ½ MS) and GA3 (0, 2.5 and 5 mg L-1) with either sucrose or glucose.

Kinsenoside Targets IDH1 to Restore Microglial Immune‐Metabolic Homeostasis for Alzheimer's Disease Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dysregulated TCA cycle contributes to Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathogenesis. Here, we show that microglial isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) is a critical driver. Elevated IDH1 disrupts citrate metabolism and mitochondrial function, exacerbating AD pathology.

Multi‐Axis Stretchable Zippers for Personalized Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multi‐axis stretchable zippers can adapt to complex wound morphologies and enable personalized wound treatment through programmable contraction. This morphological matching strategy helps accelerate wound closure, improve blood perfusion, promote epithelial regeneration, and enhance collagen remodeling, pioneering new directions for personalized and ...

Higher genetic variation estimated by microsatellites compared to isoenzyme markers in Aedes aegypti from Rio de Janeiro

open access: yesMemorias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 2006
Aedes aegypti populations from five districts in Rio de Janeiro were analyzed using five microsatellites and six isoenzyme markers, to assess the amount of variation and patterns of gene flow at local levels.

The decline of 6‐thioguanine nucleotides is not linked to impaired efficacy or safety of thiopurines in pregnant women with inflammatory bowel disease

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background Thiopurines are used to maintain remission in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). These drugs are metabolized into 6‐thioguanine nucleotides (6‐TGN), associated with efficacy, and 6‐methylmercaptopurine ribonucleotides (6‐MMPR), associated with adverse drug reactions. Pregnancy has been linked to a shift in thiopurine metabolism, characterized

beta-N-acetyl-D-glucosaminidase isoenzymes from human amniotic membranes

open access: yes, 1986
Two beta-N-acetylglucosaminidase isoenzymes (A and B) have been identified and purified from amnionic fetal membrane. The final specific activity of A and B isoenzymes increased 225- and 185-fold respectively by a purification scheme, which included a ...

Some important aspects in Moringa oleifera Lam. micropropagation

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Slovenica, 2019
Type and source of explant as well as the type of cytokinin were important factors for successful moringa micropropagation. Explants obtained from in vitro grown plant materials were better than others obtained from soil growing seedlings.

The interplay between molecular architecture, pharmacology, and suspected adverse drug reactions associated with nonsteroidal androgen antagonists in the United Kingdom

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims This work aimed to correlate potential links between the suspected adverse drug reaction (ADR) profile of licensed nonsteroidal androgen receptor antagonists (NSARA) with their unique chemical properties and known off‐target polypharmacology. Methods Physicochemical and polypharmacology data were curated from the Electronic Medicines Compendium ...

STUDIES OF ACID PHOSPHATASE ISOENZYMES IN HUMAN LEUKOCYTES

open access: yes, 1970
Seven acid phosphatase isoenzymes, namely 0, 1, 2, 3, 3b, 4 and 5, in human leukocytes have been separated both by acrylamide gel electrophoresis and by ion exchange chromatography.

PharmVar GeneFocus: CYP1A2—Clinical Impact, Genetic Variation, and Updated Nomenclature

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The Pharmacogene Variation Consortium (PharmVar) provides nomenclature for the highly polymorphic human CYP1A2 gene. CYP1A2 plays a crucial role in the biotransformation of several commonly used drugs, including antipsychotics, antidepressants, anxiolytics, and methylxanthines.
