TRF enriches Ruminococcus, a bacterial genus producing SCFAs, and activates the epithelial HIF‐1α signaling pathway. This mechanism protects the colonic mucosa from inflammatory insults in colitis models. Mechanistically, gut lactate production during starvation and refeeding mediates H4K12la, which increases SLC9A3 expression and creates an acidic gut

Roles of the tyrosine isomers meta-tyrosine and ortho-tyrosine in oxidative stress
The damage to cellular components by reactive oxygen species, termed oxidative stress, both increases with age and likely contributes to age-related diseases including Alzheimer’s disease, atherosclerosis, diabetes, and cataract formation. In the setting

A Mass Spectrometry Approach Reveals Fatty Acid Isomerism in Tomato Cold Tolerance
Plants can adapt to environmental fluctuations through modulating their fatty acids (FAs) dynamically. In this study, an enhanced mass spectrometry approach is utilized to uncover an unexplored landscape of FAs and FA isomers that are critical for cold ...

Icosahedral metallic nanoclusters: low-temperature structures or pre-melting ones?
Melting of cuboctahedral nanoclusters of fcc metals (Ag, Au, Cu, Ni, Pd и Pt) containing 561 atoms and a transition to icosahedral isomers preceding their melting were simulated using the isothermal molecular dynamics.

Biological Activities of a-Pinene and β-Pinene Enantiomers
The antimicrobial activities of the isomers and enantiomers of pinene were evaluated against bacterial and fungal cells. The agar diffusion test showed that only the positive enantiomers of the a- and β-isomers of pinene were active.

Selective Inhibition of Integrin β3 Topology Provides a Safer Antithrombotic Strategy
Current integrin αIIbβ3 inhibitors effectively reduce thrombosis but also increase bleeding risk. During thrombosis, high shear blood flow can directly activate the integrin αIIbβ3 via a distinct topological change in the β3 transmembrane domain, independent of hemostatic platelet signaling.

Multidrug‐resistant Vibrio infections are rising rapidly and threaten coastal populations worldwide. This study introduces D‐zp37, a chirality‐engineered antimicrobial peptide with exceptional potency against resistant Vibrio species. D‐zp37 kills planktonic cells, blocks mixed‐species biofilms, disrupts essential bacterial stress responses, and shows ...
