Six Low-Lying Isomers of C11H8 Are Unidentified in the LaboratoryA Theoretical Study

open access: yes, 2021
The potential energy surface of C11H8 has been theoretically examined using density functional theory and coupled-cluster methods. The current investigation reveals that 2aH-cyclopenta[cd]indene (2), 7-ethynyl-1H-indene (6), 4-ethynyl-1H-indene (7), 6 ...

Isomers in the Cosmos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The nucleosynthesis of chemical elements has been established to be the result of a variety of different types of nuclear reactions in stars. Under the extreme temperatures and densities encountered in such environments, nuclear isomers can be populated ...

Designed Lewis Acid–Base Passivation for High Performance Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silicon's high cost and long energy payback time remain major barriers to the global expansion of solar power. In contrast, metal–halide perovskites offer abundant, solution‐processable absorbers, and have achieved efficiencies of 25%–30%, positioning them as strong competitors to silicon.

Explosion Characteristics of Propanol Isomer–Air Mixtures

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
This paper describes a series of experiments performed to study the explosion characteristics of propanol isomer (1-propanol and 2-propanol)−air binary mixtures. The experiments were conducted in two different experimental arrangements—a 0.02

Lutein and Zeaxanthin Isomers in Eye Health and Disease

open access: yesAnnual review of nutrition, 2016
Current evidence suggests lutein and its isomers play important roles in ocular development in utero and throughout the life span, in vision performance in young and later adulthood, and in lowering risk for the development of common age-related eye ...

Bioorthogonal Photoactivation of 2‐Nitrobenzyl Caged Doxorubicin Anticancer Prodrugs on Gold Nanostars

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bioorthogonal chemistry was applied to intracellularly photoactivate Doxorubicin (Dox) using gold nanostars (AuNSt) and near‐infrared (NIR) light. Two prodrugs were used: one photoactivatable, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl carbamate (proDox1) and another photolabile, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl diol (proDox2), which was attached to the AuNSt surface.
