STEM investigations of γ-TiAl produced by additive manufacturing after isothermal oxidation
Corrosion Science, 2020Short-term isothermal oxidation of TiAl 48-2-2 alloy produced by Electron Beam (EBM) was investigated at 750, 800, 850 and 900 °C with special focus on the oxidation kinetics and metal-scale interface evolution.

Isothermal oxidation of TiAl alloy
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 2001Isothermal oxidation behavior of Ti-48.6 at. pct Al alloy was studied in pure dry oxygen over the temperature range 850 °C to 1000 °C. The oxidation was essentially parabolic at all temperatures with significant increase in the rate at 1000 °C. Effective activation energy of 404 kJ/mol was deduced. The oxidation products were a mixture of TiO2 (rutile)

Isothermal waves of hydrogen oxidation
Russian Chemical Bulletin, 2011It is analytically shown that the chain ignition region is extended in the reaction of hydrogen oxidation due to the nonlinear interaction H + HO2 = 2 OH. As a result, the reaction propagates isothermally under the isothermal conditions outside the ignition region, which is calculated by the scheme taking into account only linear reactions with respect

Segregation Isotherms at the Surfaces of Oxides
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1989A non‐Arrhenius segregation isotherm is derived which includes the change in the heat of segregation with surface coverage due to impurity—impurity interactions. It is shown that a linear dependence of log ( X s ) on the ...

Isothermal Oxidation of α2-Ti3Al
Oxidation of Metals, 2000The isothermal oxidation behavior of binary Ti–25 at.% Al was studiedat 1073, 1173, and 1273 K in air and oxygen with emphasis on themicrostructure of the subsurface zone underneath the external oxidescale. Thermogravimetric analysis, acoustic-emission (AE) analysis, lightmicroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), atomic force microscopy(AFM), and

Non‐isothermal and isothermal oxidation behaviors of AlON translucent ceramic in air
Materials and Corrosion, 2014The oxidation behavior of AlON translucent ceramic was investigated both in non‐isothermal (from room temperature to 1573 K) and isothermal (at 1373 and 1473 K) conditions. The mass gains, phase compositions and micromorphology of oxidized samples were examined by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X‐ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron ...
