Evidence of hydrological control of Sr behavior in stream water (Strengbach catchment, Vosges mountains, France) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Strontium and particularly 87Sr/86Sr ratios in stream water have often been used to calculate weathering rates in catchments. Nevertheless, in the literature, discharge variation effects on the geochemical behavior of Sr are often omitted or considered ...

PET Imaging of Cardiac Inflammation in Viral Myocarditis Using a DPP4‐Targeted Probe

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study describes a DPP4‐targeted PET probe for imaging myocardial inflammation by selectively targeting activated immune cells. Derived from the clinically approved small‐molecule inhibitor linagliptin, the probe demonstrates favorable biodistribution with specific cardiac uptake in myocarditis.

Uranium-lead dating method at the Pará-Iso isotope geology laboratory, UFPA, Belém - Brazil

open access: yesAnais da Academia Brasileira de Ciências, 2007
Analytical procedures for U-Pb isotope dilution analyses at the Pará-Iso isotope geology laboratory of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) are described in detail. The procedures are applied to zircon, titanite, rutile, apatite, columbite-tantalite and

Nitrogen isotope analysis of ammonium and glycine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Stable isotope techniques can be used as a tool in nitrogen cycling studies of different ecosystems. The studies are based on measurement of the heavy (15N)- to- light (14N) isotopic ratios of nitrogen in different biospheric pools.

Nanoarchitectonics of Porous Carbons Templated by Inorganic Metal Oxides and Alkali Metal Salts for Energy and Environmental Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review explores inorganic metal oxides and metal salt nanoparticles templated porous carbons, highlighting their synthesis, structural features, and performance in energy and environmental applications. It critically compares template types, porosity control, and functional outcomes across recent literature.

The Use of Q-ICPMS to Apply Enriched Zinc Stable Isotope Source Tracing for Organic Fertilizers

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
Organic fertilizer applications can contribute to Zinc (Zn) biofortification of crops. An enriched stable isotope source tracing approach is a central tool to further determine the potential of this biofortification measure.

Symbiotic nitrogen fixation and N-transfer in a grass-white clover mixture [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Symbiotic N2 fixation (SNF) and transfer of fixed N from clover to grass in a grass-white clover mixture was measured during two years using 15N isotope dilution techniques. White clover derived from 87 to 99% of its N from the atmosphere.

Lithium abundances in CEMP stars

open access: yes, 2012
Carbon-enhanced metal-poor (CEMP) stars are believed to show the chemical imprints of more massive stars (M > 0.8 Msun) that are now extinct. In particular, it is expected that the observed abundance of Li should deviate in these stars from the standard ...

Body Composition Measurement in Children with Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida and Spinal Cord Injury: A Systematic Review of the Literature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Pediatric obesity is a major health concern that has an increased prevalence in children with special needs. In order to categorize a child’s weight, an assessment of body composition is needed.

Gut Lactate Boosts Ruminococcus via Histone Lactylation to Mediate Time‐Restricted Feeding Protection in Crohn's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TRF enriches Ruminococcus, a bacterial genus producing SCFAs, and activates the epithelial HIF‐1α signaling pathway. This mechanism protects the colonic mucosa from inflammatory insults in colitis models. Mechanistically, gut lactate production during starvation and refeeding mediates H4K12la, which increases SLC9A3 expression and creates an acidic gut
