Synthesis of isotopically labelled cardiolipins

open access: yesTetrahedron Letters, 1998
Abstract A phosphotriester approach is used to access the complex phospholipid, cardiolipin (1) with polyunsaturated fatty acid chains. The synthetic method allows the specific incorporation of isotopic labels within the molecule and sets up the desired configuration at all three chiral centres which corresponds to the configuration of the natural ...

Machine learning for identifying liver and pancreas cancers through comprehensive serum glycopeptide spectra analysis: a case‐control study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel AI‐based diagnostic approach—comprehensive serum glycopeptide spectra analysis (CSGSA)—that integrates tumor markers and enriched glycopeptides from serum. Using a neural network model, this method accurately distinguishes liver and pancreatic cancers from healthy individuals.

Development of High-Performance Chemical Isotope Labeling LC-MS for Profiling the Carbonyl Submetabolome.

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2017
Metabolites containing a carbonyl group represent several important classes of molecules including various forms of ketones and aldehydes such as steroids and sugars. We report a high-performance chemical isotope labeling (CIL) LC-MS method for profiling

Nitric oxide‐forming nitrite reductases in the anaerobic ammonium oxidizer Kuenenia stuttgartiensis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Anammox bacteria remove fixed nitrogen from their environment via anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) with nitrite as electron acceptor and dinitrogen gas as product. The first anammox step is the conversion of nitrite to nitric oxide by nitrite reductase.

Chemical Isotope Labeling LC-MS for High Coverage and Quantitative Profiling of the Hydroxyl Submetabolome in Metabolomics.

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2016
A key step in metabolomics is to perform accurate relative quantification of the metabolomes in comparative samples with high coverage. Hydroxyl-containing metabolites are an important class of the metabolome with diverse structures and physical/chemical

SIMPEL: using stable isotopes to elucidate dynamics of context specific metabolism

open access: yesCommunications Biology
The capacity to leverage high resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) with transient isotope labeling experiments is an untapped opportunity to derive insights on context-specific metabolism, that is difficult to assess quantitatively.

Using 14C-acetate Pulse-chase Labeling to Study Fatty Acid and Glycerolipid Metabolism in Plant Leaves

open access: yesBio-Protocol, 2021
Lipids metabolism is comprised of networks of reactions occurred in different subcellular compartments. Isotopic labeling is a good way to track the transformations and movements of metabolites without perturbing overall cellular metabolism. Fatty acids,

Discovery of an Intrinsic Antiferromagnetic Semiconductor EuSc2Te4 With Magnetism‐Driven Nonlinear Transport

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
EuSc₂Te₄, an antiferromagnetic semiconductor, exhibits a nonlinear Hall effect (NLHE) characterized by quadratic current–voltage behavior. Combined experimental and theoretical studies reveal that this NLHE is linked to its antiferromagnetism and involves contributions from the quantum metric.
