Isotopic Carbon Abundances in M71

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 1997
High resolution echelle spectra of the 8005 Angstroms CN bands are presented for five bright giants in the globular cluster M71 (C1951 +186, NGC 6838). An analysis of the (13) CN feature included in this region confirms the results of \cite{briley94a}; that the M71 red giants evince low (12}C/({13)) C ratios and that these ratios are correlated with CN

The isotopic abundances of interstellar oxygen

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1981
The relative abundance of /sup 17/O and /sup 18/O is found to be remarkably uniform in the giant molecular clouds of our Galaxy, varying by less than approx.5% between the galactic center and the most distant (approx.12 kpc) sources. This uniformity is seen to reflect the close similarity in the galactic distributions of the processes by which these ...
