Type 2 Diabetes‐Associated Phenylacetylglutamine Induces Deleterious Inflammation Cycle in Myeloid Cells through β2 Adrenergic Receptors and Impedes Wound Healing

The microbiota‐derived metabolite phenylacetylglutamine (PAGln) is elevated in type 2 diabetes and tightly associated with poor healing in both diabetic and non‐diabetic human patients. PAGln promotes mouse inflammation and impairs healing through a transmissible β2‐adrenergic receptor–mediated trained‐immunity loop.

SLC6A14 Drives Mitochondrial Fusion and Oxidative Phosphorylation to Promote Cancer Stemness and Early‐Onset of Breast Cancer

Elevated levels of the plasticizer DEHP associate with earlier breast cancer diagnosis. DEHP enhances glutamine‐powered energy production via the transporter SLC6A14 and pushes mitochondria toward fusion, driving tumor initiation by boosting cancer stemness. Polo‐Like Kinase 1 Phosphorylation Tunes the Functional Viscoelastic Properties of the Centrosome Scaffold

To enable mitotic spindle assembly during cell division, centrosomes must bear tensile stresses generated by microtubule‐mediated pulling forces. Micro‐rheology reveals that PLK‐1 phosphorylation of the scaffold protein SPD‐5 tunes the viscoelasticity, size, and morphology of the centrosome scaffold in C. elegans.
