Guideline on Isotope Dilution Mass Spectrometry

open access: yes, 2017
Isotope dilution mass spectrometry is used to determine the concentration of an element of interest in a bulk sample. It is a destructive analysis technique that is applicable to a wide range of analytes and bulk sample types. With this method, a known amount of a rare isotope, or ‘spike’, of the element of interest is added to a known amount of sample.

Single‐component cationic polyethylenimine thermogel for sustained and localized gene delivery to combat multi‐drug resistant cancer

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
A cationic thermogelling copolymer employing branched PEI‐25 kDa as the sole hydrophilic segment can be facilely complexed with plasmid by physical mixing in the sol phase. Spontaneous gelation is achieved via self‐assembly after injection due to physiological temperature. Sustained and localized release of plasmid from the cationic PEI‐thermogel leads

Chemical Composition, Antioxidant, and Antibacterial Activities of Mezilaurus duckei (Lauraceae)

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mezilaurus duckei, a Brazilian endemic tree species found exclusively in the Amazon Rainforest, is primarily exploited for timber in construction. Due to its endangered status, this study aimed to investigate the chemical profile and biological properties of the ethanolic extract and its phases derived from M. duckei leaves. Chemical profiling

A Comprehensive Review of Platinum‐Based Catalysts for Propane Dehydrogenation: Strategies and Machine Learning Insights for Performance Optimization

open access: yesCarbon and Hydrogen, EarlyView.
This paper holds a comprehensive review of Pt‐based catalysts in PDH, both on the dehydrogenation mechanism and performance influenced by different promoters and supports. Further, the potential utilization of machine learning methods for predicting performance and results on the PDH performance of Pt‐based catalysts are also discussed.

Serum bile acids as a prognostic biomarker in biliary atresia following Kasai portoenterostomy

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Serum bile acid levels predict outcomes in patients with biliary atresia who achieve normalized bilirubin levels after Kasai portoenterostomy. Abstract Background and Aims In biliary atresia, serum bilirubin is commonly used to predict outcomes after Kasai portoenterostomy (KP).
