Single crystals of dibarium vanadate(V) bromide, Ba2VO4Br, were grown from a melt of Ba3(VO4)2 and BaBr2. Ba2VO4Br crystallizes in the space group Pbcm and is isotypic with the structure of chlorspodiosite, Ca2PO4Cl.

The stannides RE2Au3Sn6 (RE = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm) were synthesized from the elements by arc‐melting. Small single crystals were grown by annealing samples in sealed tantalum tubes in an induction furnace with a special annealing sequence. The polycrystalline phases were characterized through their X‐ray powder diffraction pattern.
