Anorectal Dysfunction in Systemic Sclerosis: Clinical Phenotypes and Functional Patterns

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective The aim of this study was to characterize specific physiologic defects in anorectal dysfunction in systemic sclerosis (SSc) using anorectal manometry (ARM), evaluate associations with gastrointestinal (GI) and extraintestinal clinical phenotypes, and explore potential serologic markers for risk stratification.

The Development of Rheumatoid Arthritis‐Specific Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions: Results of a Consensus Process

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Ambulatory care sensitive conditions (ACSCs) serve as indicators of access, quality, and performance of the health system. This study aimed to determine rheumatoid arthritis (RA)‐specific ACSCs for use in the evaluation of care system access and quality.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

A Novel Modified Petroresin Particle (MPRP) With Enhanced Oil–Water Selectivity for Cold Production in Heavy Oil Reservoirs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel oil–water selective conformance control agent, MPRP, is prepared via hydrophilic grafting and mechanical granulation. MPRP uniformly disperses in water, cohesively expands upon aging, and readily dissolves in the oil phase. During conformance control, it selectively aggregates in water channeling pathways to form effective plugs without ...

Mechanical and chemical itch regulated by neuropeptide Y-Y signaling

open access: yesMolecular Pain
Itch is a somatosensory sensation to remove potential harmful stimulation with a scratching desire, which could be divided into mechanical and chemical itch according to diverse stimuli, such as wool fiber and insect biting.

Advancements in Hypersaline Wastewater Treatment: The Promise of Quasi‐Liquid Surfaces to Reduce Salt Scaling

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 65, 13 August 2026.
Durable quasi‐liquid polymer brush surfaces provide an anti‐scaling strategy for hypersaline brine evaporation and zero‐liquid‐discharge desalination. The smooth, liquid‐like QLS interface suppresses substrate‐side salt nucleation, promotes compact crystallization and dewetting, reduces crystal–surface contact area, and enables low‐adhesion salt ...

Spinal Calcrl+ neurons amplify mechanical itch signaling via synaptic plasticity in chronic itch model.

open access: yesPLoS ONE
Chronic itch, a devastating dermatological disorder, lacks targeted therapies due to incomplete understanding of its neural circuitry. Building on seminal studies that identified neuropeptide Y (NPY) inhibitory interneurons and their downstream urocortin
