Differences across the ITCZ in the chemical characteristics of the Indian Ocean MBL aerosol during INDOEX [PDF]
The water soluble inorganic part of the sub-micrometer aerosol was measured from two research vessels over the Indian Ocean during the winter monsoon season (February and March) as part of the INDOEX project in 1998 and 1999.

Abstract Drought is one of the most severe and complex natural hazards causing changes in water balance and impeding crucial water‐dependent ecosystem services. Over the last 25 years, multiple severe droughts linked to El Niño events have affected the Zambian and Zimbabwean regions.

Large deglacial shifts of the Pacific Intertropical Convergence Zone
The extent to which the location of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ)—a primary influence over tropical hydrology—varied in the past remains uncertain.

Kogia Records in Brazilian Equatorial and Southwestern Atlantic Oceans
ABSTRACT The pygmy (Kogia breviceps) and dwarf (Kogia sima) sperm whales are cryptic cetaceans characterized by inconspicuous surfacing behavior, small group sizes, and deep‐diving habits, making visual detection particularly challenging. Here, we present the first broad‐scale passive acoustic monitoring (PAM) assessment of Kogia spp.

ITCZ Breakdown in Three-Dimensional Flows
Abstract The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) is observed to undulate and at times break down into a series of tropical disturbances in several days. Some of these disturbances may develop into tropical cyclones and move to higher latitudes, while others dissipate, and the ITCZ may reform in the original region. It has been proposed

The ITCZ Characteristics Based On MTSAT Satellite
This research presents profile of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) based on MTSAT Satellite dataset from 2004 to 2009. The dataset uses both of visible and infrared channels (IR1) to observe global cloud covers (50oN-50oS, 70oE-150oW) with 0.25 ...

Linear Relation Between Shifting ITCZ and Dust Hemispheric Asymmetry
These datasets support an article published in Geophysical Research Letters on Nov. 9, 2020. Abstract for associated article: "Mineral dust is emitted primarily from arid regions, which may shrink or expand in one or both hemispheres, producing a complex

Abstract Coastal El Niño (COA) events follow two evolution pathways, remaining in the far eastern Pacific or expanding into basin‐wide El Niño events. Analyzing 55 CMIP6 models, we show that the two pathways are associated with distinct central and eastern Pacific ocean‐atmosphere conditions, and the simulated frequency of each type is linked to ...
