SIMEX-Based and Analytical Bias Corrections in Stocking–Lord Linking

open access: yesAnalytics
Stocking–Lord (SL) linking is a popular linking method for group comparisons based on dichotomous item responses. This article proposes a bias correction technique based on the simulation extrapolation (SIMEX) method for SL linking in the 2PL model in ...

ltm: An R Package for Latent Variable Modeling and Item Response Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
The R package ltm has been developed for the analysis of multivariate dichotomous and polytomous data using latent variable models, under the Item Response Theory approach.

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Estimating and explaining differences in income related inequality in health across general practices. [PDF]

open access: yes
We use data on individual patients in general practices to examine whether income related inequality in self reported health differs across general practices and whether such differences are explained by characteristics of the practices. We allow for the

ficult questions. Ideally, the two camps should have much cross fertilization, and the lines between them should be blurred. However, complex theories are often con structed before appropriate meth ods are developed for testing the hypotheses. Additionally, quanti tative psychologists often develop techniques that might be difficult and impractical to ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Sequential Regression Multiple Imputation for Incomplete Multivariate Data using Markov Chain Monte Carlo [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper discusses the theoretical background to handling missing data in a multivariate context. Earlier methods for dealing with item non-response are reviewed, followed by an examination of some of the more modern methods and, in particular ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...
