Generalizability theory and item response theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Item response theory is usually applied to items with a selected-response format, such as multiple choice items, whereas generalizability theory is usually applied to constructed-response tasks assessed by raters. However, in many situations, raters may use rating scales consisting of items with a selected-response format. This chapter presents a short

Transcriptome‐wide analysis of circRNA and RBP profiles and their molecular relevance for GBM

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CircRNAs are differentially expressed in glioblastoma primary tumors and might serve as therapeutic targets and diagnostic markers. The investigation of circRNA and RNA‐binding proteins (RBPs) interactions shows that distinct RBPs play a role in circRNA biogenesis and function.

Item pre-knowledge true prevalence in clinical anatomy - application of gated item response theory model

open access: yesBMC Medical Education, 2019
Background Computer and paper examinations in our days are constructed from an item pool which is regularly updated. Given the way that exams are created, one of the major concerns is the security of the items that are being used in order to ensure a ...

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

Item Response Theory

open access: yes
(1) Item Response Theory (IRT) is incorrect theory for high-stake scoring; (2) IRT has no additive structure; IRT has no decomposition theory; (3) IRT is not consistent with Total Score and General Total Score; (4) IRT is not self-consistent; IRT is not complete;

An empirical comparison of Item Response Theory and Classical Test Theory [PDF]

open access: yesPsihološka Obzorja, 2008
Based on nonlinear models between the measured latent variable and the item response, item response theory (IRT) enables independent estimation of item and person parameters and local estimation of measurement error.

A large‐scale retrospective study in metastatic breast cancer patients using circulating tumour DNA and machine learning to predict treatment outcome and progression‐free survival

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
There is an unmet need in metastatic breast cancer patients to monitor therapy response in real time. In this study, we show how a noninvasive and affordable strategy based on sequencing of plasma samples with longitudinal tracking of tumour fraction paired with a statistical model provides valuable information on treatment response in advance of the ...

ITEM ANALYSIS OF HIGH SCHOOL SPECIALIZATION MATHEMATICS EXAM QUESTIONS WITH ITEM RESPONSE THEORY APPROACH

open access: yesBarekeng
Analysis of item characteristics on test instruments is carried out to determine high-quality items. This study aims to describe the parameters of specialized high school mathematics test items using the IRT approach.

Network Security Risk Assessment Based on Item Response Theory

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Security and Safety, 2015
Owing to the traditional risk assessment method has one-sidedness and is difficult to reflect the real network situation, a risk assessment method based on Item Response Theory (IRT) is put forward in network security.
