Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Fastest walk control of quadruped robots for trot gait by using torque redundancy of leg joints
A way of deriving the fastest walk pattern of quadruped robots for trot gait is developed and installed into a practical robot system. Two support legs and the body are modeled as a five-link manipulator and each swinging leg is modeled as a two link ...

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Practical Iterated Fill Synthesis for CMP Uniformity
We propose practical iterated methods for layout density control for CMP uniformity, based on linear programming, Monte-Carlo and greedy algorithms. We experimentally study the tradeoffs between two main filling objectives: minimizing density variation ...

Iterated decoding of modified product codes in optical networks:[invited] [PDF]
Appendix I of the standard ITU-T G.975 contains several codes that have been proposed for improved performance of optical transmission. While the original application was submarine cables, the codes are now also used in terrestrial systems where ...

Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Fourier frequencies in affine iterated function systems
We examine two questions regarding Fourier frequencies for a class of iterated function systems (IFS). These are iteration limits arising from a fixed finite families of affine and contractive mappings in R-d, and the IFS refers to such a finite system

Freidlin-Wentzell LDPs in path space for McKean-Vlasov equations and the Functional Iterated Logarithm Law [PDF]
We show two Freidlin-Wentzell Large Deviations Principles for McKean-Vlasov Stochastic Differential Equations (MV-SDEs) in path space topologies using techniques addressing directly the presence of the law in the coefficients and avoiding altogether ...

Amino acids sequence of two different proteins with the same sequence (chameleon sequence—black boxes) represent in 3D structure of the proteins different secondary structures: HHHH—helical and BBB—Beta‐structural. The chains folded in water environment adopt different III‐order structures in which the chameleon fragments appear to adopt similar status
