Positive solutions for singular three-point boundary-value problems
In this paper, we present the Green's functions for a second-order linear differential equation with three-point boundary conditions. We give exact expressions of the solutions for the linear three-point boundary problems by the Green's functions.

Recursion Versus Iteration with the List as a Data Structure
A reversible sequence of steps from the specification of the algorithm and the mathematical definition of the recurrent solution through the recursive procedure, the tail recursive procedure and finally to the iteration procedure, is shown.

Recent results on iterative roots
This is a rough survey of some results on iterative roots (fractional iterates) published recently. Also some historical information to clear the connection to previous results has been given.

In the present paper we use the proximal point method in order to find an approximate common zero of an infinite collection of maximal monotone maps in a real Hilbert space under the presence of computational errors.

Iterated deterministic substitution
Deterministic substitution of languages means substituting the same word (from a given language) for all occurrences of a symbol. For an arbitrary family $K$ of languages the notion of deterministic $K$-iteration grammar is introduced, which is essentially the iteration of a finite number of deterministic substitutions of languages from $K$.

The number system in rational base $3/2$ and the $3x+1$ problem
The representation of numbers in rational base $p/q$ was introduced in 2008 by Akiyama, Frougny & Sakarovitch, with a special focus on the case $p/q=3/2$.

Approximate Common Solutions for a Family of Inverse Strongly Monotone Mappings
In 2003 W. Takahashi and M. Toyoda showed the weak convergence of an iteration process of finding the solution of a variational inequality problem for an inverse strongly monotone mapping.

ITERATING SYMMETRIC EXTENSIONS [PDF]
AbstractThe notion of a symmetric extension extends the usual notion of forcing by identifying a particular class of names which forms an intermediate model of $ZF$ between the ground model and the generic extension, and often the axiom of choice fails in these models. Symmetric extensions are generally used to prove choiceless consistency results.

Curve shortening by short rulers
The aim is to construct a straight line between the two endpoints of a rectifiable curve using only a ruler, which is too short to connect them directly.
