An Iterative Method for Identifying Essential Proteins Based on Non-Negative Matrix Factorization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
In recent years, with the development of high-throughput technologies, lots of computational methods for predicting essential proteins based on protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks and biological information of proteins have been proposed ...

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Start iteration for Ezquerro-Hernández method

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2008
We present a numerical method for solving nonlinear equation systems, namely Ezquerro-Hern\'{a}ndez method with a rate of convergence equal to 4. The main result of this article is an algorithm that determines a start iteration for the method within its ...

Calculation of deflections of bent reinforced concrete elements on the basis of a nonlinear deformation model taking into account the forces of adhesion of reinforcement with concrete [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
The purpose of this work is to numerically implement the calculation of deflections of bent reinforced concrete elements based on a nonlinear deformation model and taking into account the characteristics of reinforcement coupling with concrete.

Emapalumab for Immune Effector Cell‐Associated Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis‐Like Syndrome Following CD19‐Directed CAR‐T in Two Patients With B‐ALL: Clinical and Biomarker Correlates

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immune effector cell‐associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis‐like syndrome (IEC‐HS) is a life‐threatening hyperinflammatory toxicity distinct from cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity following chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell (CAR‐T) therapy. In a single‐institution retrospective cohort of pediatric and young adult patients

An Iteration Method for Identifying Yeast Essential Proteins From Weighted PPI Network Based on Topological and Functional Features of Proteins

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Accumulating studies have indicated that essential proteins play critical roles in numerous biological processes. With the rapid development of high-throughput technologies, a large number of Protein-Protein Interaction (PPI) data have been found in ...

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

An Uzawa-SHSS-SS Method for Solving Non-Symmetric Saddle-Point Problems [PDF]

open access: yesSahand Communications in Mathematical Analysis
This paper establishes an iteration method for solving a class of non-symmetric saddle-point problems termed Uzawa-SHSS-SS,  based on the SHSS-SS iteration scheme [C. X. Li and S. L.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
