An iterative method for parameter identification and shape reconstruction

open access: yes, 2010
An iterative strategy for the reconstruction of objects buried in a medium and the identification of their material parameters is analysed. The algorithm alternates guesses of the domains using topological derivatives with corrections of the parameters ...

Bayesian model calibration and damage detection for a digital twin of a bridge demonstrator

open access: yesEngineering Reports, 2023
Using digital twins for decision making is a very promising concept which combines simulation models with corresponding experimental sensor data in order to support maintenance decisions or to investigate the reliability.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Robust Structural Damage Detection Using Analysis of the CMSE Residual’s Sensitivity to Damage

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
This paper presents a robust damage identification scheme in which damage is predicted by solving the cross-modal strain energy (CMSE) linear system of equations.

Iterative Boundaries Implicit Identification for Superpixels Segmentation: A Real-Time Approach

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Superpixel algorithms group visually coherent pixels and form an alternative representation of the regular structure of the pixel grid. This fundamental low-level computer vision preprocessing step greatly reduces the complexity of subsequent image ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Performance Evaluation of Iterative Signal Design for System Identification

open access: yes, 2022
In this paper, iterative system identification is investigated where the amplitude spectra of the perturbation signals are optimised according to the present estimate of the model parameters.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
