During the succession of karst rocky desertification, soil bacterial diversity was directly influenced by both plant functional diversity and soil physicochemical properties. In contrast, soil fungal diversity was directly regulated by soil physicochemical properties and indirectly affected by plant functional diversity via the mediation of soil ...

The systematic position of Gradsteinia andicola Ochyra (Donrichardsiaceae, Bryopsida) : evidence from nrDNA internal transcribed spacer sequences [PDF]
Nuclear ribosomal DNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) 1/2 sequences of the Colombian endemic Gradsteinia andicola were determined and compared with those of 16 other species of the Hypnales (Amblystegiaceae, Brachytheciaceae, Hypnaceae ...

We describe Salmacina stellaebayensis n. sp. from Mauritania's Baie de l'Étoile and provide the first complete mitochondrial genome for the genus Salmacina. The species forms distinctive macroid colonies in Cymodocea nodosa seagrass meadows, offering new insights into serpulid life history and habitat specialization.

Plant species' habitat preference and drought tolerance traits were not the primary factors driving interspecific differences in soil functional responses to drought. Instead, fine root traits—particularly their chemical traits—played more critical roles in determining these variations.

Mechanism of action of the intestinal microbiota on CNS autoimmune diseases. Environmental factors shape gut microbiota composition; dysbiosis alters microbial metabolites and antigenic signals. These modulate innate and adaptive immunity, affect barrier integrity, and influence CNS‐resident cells such as microglia and astrocytes, contributing to ...
