Projective Equivalence for the Roots of Unity

open access: yes, 2019
Let $\mu_{\infty}\subseteq\mathbb{C}$ be the collection of roots of unity and $\mathcal{C}_{n}:=\{(s_{1},\cdots,s_{n})\in\mu_{\infty}^{n}:s_{i}\neq s_{j}\text{ for any }1\leq ...

Spatiotemporal evolution of runaway electrons from synchrotron images in Alcator C-Mod

open access: yes, 2018
In the Alcator C-Mod tokamak, relativistic runaway electron (RE) generation can occur during the flattop current phase of low density, diverted plasma discharges.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Some Remarks on the Annihilating-Ideal Graph of Commutative Ring with Respect to an Ideal [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics Interdisciplinary Research
‎The graph $ AG ( R ) $ {of} a commutative ring $R$ with identity has an edge linking two unique vertices when the product of the vertices equals {the} zero ideal and its vertices are the nonzero annihilating ideals of $R$‎.‎The annihilating-ideal graph ...

Digital twins to accelerate target identification and drug development for immune‐mediated disorders

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Digital twins integrate patient‐derived molecular and clinical data into personalised computational models that simulate disease mechanisms. They enable rapid identification and validation of therapeutic targets, prediction of drug responses, and prioritisation of candidate interventions.

Noise induced rupture process: Phase boundary and scaling of waiting time distribution

open access: yes, 2013
A bundle of fibers has been considered here as a model for composite materials, where breaking of the fibers occur due to a combined influence of applied load (stress) and external noise.

RoundMi: A quantitative method to analyze mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoundMi is a workflow for rapid analysis of mitochondrial morphology in mitotic cells. By combining adaptive preprocessing with automated segmentation and quantification, it enables accurate measurements from single focal plane images, reducing acquisition time and computational demands while remaining compatible with high‐throughput fixed and live ...

One size does not fit all: An in vitro evaluation of the effects of bezafibrate and medroxyprogesterone acetate on human SH‐SY5Y and U‐87 MG cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Drugs previously repurposed to target blood cancers reduced neuroblastoma and glioblastoma cell growth and viability. However, their levels of anticancer activity were different and their clinical application may be problematic due to side effects at effective doses.

Onset of Localization in Heterogeneous Interfacial Failure

open access: yes, 2012
We study numerically the failure of an interface joining two elastic materials under load using a fiber bundle model connected to an elastic half space.

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...
