Note: Measurement of the runaway electrons in the J-TEXT tokamak

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2012
The runaway electrons have been measured by hard x-ray detectors and soft x-ray array in the J-TEXT tokamak. The hard x-ray radiations in the energy ranges of 0.5–5 MeV are measured by two NaI detectors. The flux of lost runaway electrons can be obtained routinely.

J-TEXT-EPICS: An EPICS toolkit attempted to improve productivity

Fusion Engineering and Design, 2013
Abstract The Joint Texas Experimental Tokamak (J-TEXT) team has developed a new software toolkit for building Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) control applications called J-TEXT-EPICS. It aims to improve the development efficiency of control applications.

Observation of beta-induced Alfvén Eigenmode in J-TEXT tokamak

Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion, 2015
High-frequency oscillations have been frequently observed under the conditions of tearing modes and runaway electrons in J-TEXT Ohmic plasmas. It is found the frequencies of these oscillations range from 20 to 45 kHz, being consistent with the beta-induced Alfven Eigenmodes (BAEs) with the same order of the low-frequency gap induced by finite beta ...

Runaway electron generation during disruptions in the J-TEXT tokamak

Nuclear Fusion, 2017
A systematic study of disruption-generated runaway electrons has been performed in the J-TEXT tokamak. During the intended disruption by the argon injection in J-TEXT, the runaway electron plateau is more easily obtained with a higher loop voltage and shorter onset time of high loop voltage.

The Magnetic Energy Flow During Plasma Disruptions in J-TEXT

Journal of Fusion Energy, 2015
The magnitude of the damaging effects on the vacuum vessel (VV) components caused by the plasma disruptions increases with the quantity of the thermal energy and poloidal magnetic energy dissipated inside the VV. This paper focuses on the poloidal magnetic energy flow across the VV during the plasma disruptions in J-TEXT tokamak, which helps to ...

The real-time controller upgrade for J-TEXT CODAC System

Fusion Engineering and Design, 2013
Abstract J-TEXT tokamak has recently upgraded its control system to J-TEXT CODAC (Control, Data Access and Communication) System, based on EPICS (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System). However, former real-time controllers of J-TEXT do not support EPICS.
