Design of Thomson scattering diagnostic system on J-TEXT
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2016An infrared multi-channel Thomson scattering diagnostic system is designed from the viewpoint of development of the proposed system on the Joint Texas Experimental Tokamak (J-TEXT). A 3 J/50 Hz Nd:YAG laser, which is injected vertically into plasma in the direction from top to bottom, serves as the power source of the system.

Measurement of the edge plasma rotation on J-TEXT tokamak
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2013A multi-channel high resolution spectrometer was developed for the measurement of the edge plasma rotation on J-TEXT tokamak. With the design of two opposite viewing directions, the poloidal and toroidal rotations can be measured simultaneously, and velocity accuracy is up to 1 km/s.

The rectangular array of magnetic probes on J-TEXT tokamak
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2016The rectangular array of magnetic probes system was newly designed and installed in the torus on J-TEXT tokamak to measure the local magnetic fields outside the last closed flux surface at a single toroidal angle. In the implementation, the experimental results agree well with the theoretical results based on the Spool model and three-dimensional ...

Upgrade of the Mirnov probe arrays on the J-TEXT tokamak
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2017The magnetic diagnostic of Mirnov probe arrays has been upgraded on the J-TEXT tokamak to measure the magnetohydrodynamic instabilities with higher spatial resolution and better amplitude-frequency characteristics. The upgraded Mirnov probe array contains one poloidal array with 48 probe modules and two toroidal arrays with 25 probe modules. Each probe

Recent progress of the HCN interferometer on J-TEXT tokamak
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2012A multichannel far-infrared HCN laser interferometer has been developed to measure plasma electron density for the J-TEXT tokamak. Initial operation of a seven chords system with 7 cm spacing and a 0.1 ms temporal resolution is described. Density modulation experiments in J-TEXT show that it is possible to obtain information on particle transport by ...

Observation of runaway electrons by infrared camera in J-TEXT
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2016When the energy of confined runaway electrons approaches several tens of MeV, the runaway electrons can emit synchrotron radiation in the range of infrared wavelength. An infrared camera working in the wavelength of 3-5 μm has been developed to study the runaway electrons in the Joint Texas Experimental Tokamak (J-TEXT).

Development of the gas puffing imaging diagnostic on J-TEXT tokamak
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2021Edge turbulence is important for plasma confinement, so the gas puffing imaging (GPI) diagnostic was proposed on the J-TEXT tokamak for the two-dimensional measurement of turbulence in the edge region. GPI is a diagnostic of plasma turbulence that uses a puff of neutral gas at the plasma edge to increase the local visible light emission for improved ...

Upgrade of absolute extreme ultraviolet diagnostic on J-TEXT
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2014The absolute extreme ultraviolet (AXUV) diagnostic system is used for radiation observation on J-TEXT tokamak [J. Zhang, G. Zhuang, Z. J. Wang, Y. H. Ding, X. Q. Zhang, and Y. J. Tang, Rev. Sci. Instrum. 81, 073509 (2010)]. The upgrade of the AXUV system is aimed to improve the spatial resolution and provide a three-dimensional image on J-TEXT. The new

Note: Measurement of the runaway electrons in the J-TEXT tokamak
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2012The runaway electrons have been measured by hard x-ray detectors and soft x-ray array in the J-TEXT tokamak. The hard x-ray radiations in the energy ranges of 0.5–5 MeV are measured by two NaI detectors. The flux of lost runaway electrons can be obtained routinely.
