Optimization of J-TEXT three-wave polarimeter-interferometer system

Journal of Instrumentation, 2013
A laser-based three-wave polarimeter-interferometer system (POLARIS) is operational on J-TEXT tokamak (R=1.05 m, a=0.27 m) to measure plasma electron density and Faraday rotation angle simultaneously. Vibration and collinearity are two key factors which affect the accuracy of the measurement.

Rogowski Sensor for Plasma Current Measurement in J-TEXT

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2009
Rogowski coil is very useful in transient current measurement. Rogowski sensor consisting of Rogowski coil and integrator is one of the most important diagnostic instrumentations in Tokamak. In recent years, new structures of Rogowski coil based on printed circuit board (PCB) are developed to replace traditional handmade Rogowski coil for more ...

Optimization of the HCN interferometer on J-TEXT tokamak

Journal of Instrumentation, 2015
Recently, the HCN interferometer on J-TEXT has been optimized in many aspects. Firstly, the output power of laser source is more stable after using a new designed movable mirror frame and upgrading the oil thermostatic system. Secondly, the electromagnetic interferences have been eliminated by designing a shielding system.

Service-Oriented Remote Operation System for J-TEXT Tokamak

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2014
To fully use the tokamak facility, it is necessary to allow researchers to remotely participate in the tokamak experiments via the Internet. Being able to control the operation of the tokamak is a key point. In this paper, the design and implementation of the remote operation system for the Joint Texas Experimental Tokamak (J-TEXT) are presented.

The fast reciprocating magnetic probe system on the J-TEXT tokamak

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2016
The fast reciprocating magnetic probe (FRMP) system is newly developed on the Joint Texas Experimental Tokamak (J-TEXT) to measure the local magnetic fluctuations at the plasma edge. The magnetic probe array in the FRMP consists of four 2-dimensional magnetic probes arranged at different radial locations to detect local poloidal and radial magnetic ...

Design of a shattered pellet injection system on J-TEXT tokamak

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2018
Disruptions have the possibility of causing severe wall damage to large tokamaks like ITER. The mitigation of disruption damage is essential to the safe operation of a large-scale tokamak. The shattered pellet injection (SPI) technique, which is regarded as the primary injection method for ITER, presents several advantages relative to massive gas ...

A 16-channel heterodyne electron cyclotron emission radiometer on J-TEXT

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2012
To study equilibrium temporal dynamics and the mechanisms of magnetohydrodynamic instabilities, a 16-channel heterodyne electron cyclotron emission (ECE) radiometer has been developed to view the J-TEXT tokamak from the low field side. The ECE radiometer detects second-harmonic extraordinary mode in the frequency band of 94–125 GHz which corresponds to

Measurement of electron temperature fluctuations on J-TEXT via correlation ECE

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2018
The capabilities of the joint-Texas experimental tokamak correlation electron cyclotron emission (CECE) diagnostic have recently been extended with an upgrade. Four new yttrium iron garnet (YIG) filters from 4 GHz to 18 GHz with a bandwidth of 90 ∼ 230 MHz are added to the previous 4 channels.

Upgrade of the Mirnov probe arrays on the J-TEXT tokamak

Review of Scientific Instruments, 2017
The magnetic diagnostic of Mirnov probe arrays has been upgraded on the J-TEXT tokamak to measure the magnetohydrodynamic instabilities with higher spatial resolution and better amplitude-frequency characteristics. The upgraded Mirnov probe array contains one poloidal array with 48 probe modules and two toroidal arrays with 25 probe modules. Each probe
