Comment on “Trends in the Exchange Current for Hydrogen Evolution” [J. Electrochem. Soc., 152, J23 (2005)] [PDF]

open access: possibleJournal of the Electrochemical Society, 2006
We compare the adsorption energies calculated by Norskov et al. with data derived from experimental values; except for Ni and Co, which absorb hydrogen strongly, there is a linear relation. We discuss the model proposed by these authors in the light of extensive previous work and of experimental data and find it overly simplistic.

Coculture-inducible bacteriocin activity of Lactobacillus plantarum strain J23 isolated from grape must

Food Microbiology, 2007
Detection and characterization of bacteriocin production by Lactobacillus plantarum strain J23, recovered from a grape must sample in Spain, have been carried out. Bacteriocin activity was degraded by proteolytic enzymes (trypsin, alfa-chymotrypsin, papaine, protease, proteinase K and acid proteases), and it was stable at high temperatures (121 degrees

Characterization of a new organization of the plantaricin locus in the inducible bacteriocin-producing Lactobacillus plantarum J23 of grape must origin

Archives of Microbiology, 2008
Lactobacillus plantarum J23 was previously characterized as a bacteriocin-producer-strain when it was cocultured with other lactic acid bacteria. In this work, the genetic organization of the pln locus in the J23 strain was studied and compared with those of previously described L. plantarum C11, WCFS1 and NC8 strains.

J23 Evaluation of Validity of UHDRS Translations in the Registry Study

Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry, 2014
Background The REGISTRY study was designed to obtain natural history data on a wide spectrum of HD patients in Europe over the course of 15 years. Several scales were administered to characterise and evaluate HD patients’ progression, which included the Unified Huntington’s Disease Rating Scale (UHDRS). Aims The aim of this study was to evaluate the
