A Conversation With David Bellhouse

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, EarlyView.
Summary David Richard Bellhouse was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, on 19 July 1948. He studied actuarial mathematics and statistics at the University of Manitoba (BA, 1970; MA, 1972) and completed his PhD at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, in 1975. After being an Assistant Professor for 1 year at his alma mater, he joined the University of Western ...

Simple representations of BPS algebras: the case of $$Y(\widehat{\mathfrak {gl}}_2)$$ Y ( gl ^ 2 )

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
BPS algebras are the symmetries of a wide class of brane-inspired models. They are closely related to Yangians – the peculiar and somewhat sophisticated limit of DIM algebras. Still they possess some simple and explicit representations.

Older Americans' Attitudes Toward Caregiving Cost Responsibility and Long‐Term Care Access and Costs by Caregiver Status

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, EarlyView.
Most older Americans, age 50 and older, are split between seeing older adults and their families (white) and the government (blue patterned) as primarily responsible for caregiving costs. A greater proportion of caregivers see the government as primarily responsible compared to non‐caregivers. Chi‐square tests show a significant difference in attitudes

Calogero-Sutherland-type quantum systems, generalized hypergeometric functions and superintegrability for integral chains

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We reinvestigate the Calogero-Sutherland-type (CS-type) models and generalized hypergeometric functions. We construct the generalized CS operators for circular, Hermite, Laguerre, Jacobi and Bessel cases and establish the generalized Lassalle-Nekrasov ...

Enhanced Quantitative Phosphocreatine MR Imaging of Skeletal Muscle Using a Global–Local Two‐Branch Deep Learning Model

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 741-755, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Phosphocreatine (PCr) is an essential marker of muscle metabolism, and accurate quantification of its (fs) and its exchange rate (ksw) is essential for diagnosing various muscular and neuromuscular diseases. Although chemical exchange saturation transfer (CEST) MRI can detect the saturation transfer effect from PCr, quantification of ...

Extremism at the center: Uncovering political diversity among midpoint responders on the left–right self‐placement item

open access: yesPolitical Psychology, Volume 47, Issue 4, August 2026.
Abstract The midpoint of the left‐right self‐placement item is the most populated of all response options. While genuinely‐centrist responders opt to self‐place there, it is also a convenient response option for those that cannot easily fit their politics to the left‐right spectrum.

Sensitivity of Large‐Scale Hydrological Predictions to Precipitation Phase Partitioning Methods Under a Changing Climate

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 7, July 2026.
Future warming shifts precipitation from snow to rain across the Saskatchewan River Basin, reducing snow water equivalent and advancing snowmelt timing. Differences among precipitation phase‐partitioning methods propagate from snowpack accumulation to runoff magnitude and timing, producing earlier spring flows and higher peak discharge.
