Safety evaluation of a food enzyme containing arabinan endo‐1,5‐α‐l‐arabinanase and endo‐polygalacturonase activities from the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus tubingensis strain PX22‐272

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract The food enzyme containing arabinan endo‐1,5‐α‐l‐arabinanase (5‐α‐l‐arabinan 5‐α‐l‐arabinanohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.99) and endo‐polygalacturonase (1,4‐α‐d‐galacturonan glycanohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.15) activities is produced with the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus tubingensis strain PX22‐272 by Shin Nihon Chemical Co., Ltd. The food enzyme was

Effect of grooving pretreatment on flame retardant vacuum-pressure impregnation performance of full-size timbers

open access: yesJournal of Wood Science
We reported in a previous study that wood fiber orthogonal grooving improves flame retardant vacuum-pressure impregnation performance. However, it was limited to small sample sizes.

Engineered Microbial Production of 2-Pyrone-4,6-Dicarboxylic Acid from Lignin Residues for Use as an Industrial Platform Chemical

open access: yesBioResources, 2016
As one of the most abundant materials in nature, lignin has been used widely in co-generation operations and for fine chemicals and bio-fuels production. These uses, although important, are of relatively low value. Lignin contains many aromatic compounds

Thermal reactivity of hemicellulose and cellulose in cedar and beech wood cell walls

open access: yesJournal of Wood Science, 2020
Wood cell walls have complex ultra-structures, in which cellulose microfibrils are surrounded by a hemicellulose–lignin matrix. This is the first paper to discuss the effect of cell wall on the pyrolytic reactivity of hemicellulose and cellulose in wood ...

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract The food enzyme endo‐polygalacturonase (1,4‐α‐d‐galacturonan glycanohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.15) is produced with the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus tubingensis strain SPG 10‐1199 by Shin Nihon Chemical Co., Ltd. The food enzyme was considered free from viable cells of the production organism.

Developing a simple soil erosion model including spatial variability in headwater catchments

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract Hillslopes and stream channels are tightly linked in headwater catchments, where soil erosion on slopes is transported to channels depending on topography, soil properties, and ground cover conditions. Because these environments are highly spatially variable, geographic information system (GIS)‐based modeling approaches are effective for ...
