Repellents in the Japanese Cedar,Cryptomeria japonica, against the Pill-bug,Armadillidium vulgare

open access: yesBioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 2002
Sandaracopimarinol and (1S,6R)-2,7(14),10-bisabolatrien-1-ol-4-one were isolated and identified from Cryptomeria japonica as repellents against Armadillidium vulgare which is well known as an unpleasant pest in the house and as vegetable pest in Japan. These compounds strongly repelled A.

Safety evaluation of the food enzyme containing endo‐polygalacturonase and pectinesterase activities from the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus luchuensis strain GSP‐4‐404

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract The food enzyme containing endo‐polygalacturonase (1,4‐α‐d‐galacturonan glycanohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.15) and pectinesterase (pectin pectylhydrolase; EC 3.1.1.11) activities is produced with the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus luchuensis strain GSP‐4‐404 by Shin Nihon Chemical Co., Ltd.

Oral Allergy Syndrome Induced by Tomato in a Dog with Japanese Cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) Pollinosis.

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Medical Science, 2002
A dog with Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica, CJ) pollinosis had oral allergy syndrome (OAS) after ingesting fresh tomato. The dog showed specific IgE to both CJ and tomato allergens. As a negative control, twenty dogs without atopic dermatitis that had no exposure to tomato and no specific IgE to CJ allergen were used.

Natural selection and recombination interact to structure genome‐wide variation in pines

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 126, Issue 1, April 2026.
SUMMARY Genetic differentiation among populations often varies significantly across the genome due to factors such as selection and recombination, resulting in a heterogeneous genomic landscape. However, variation in low‐differentiation regions—genomic valleys—remains poorly understood.

Safety evaluation of a food enzyme containing endo‐polygalacturonase, pectinesterase and pectin lyase activities from the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus niger strain CCTCC M 2023236

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract The food enzyme containing endo‐polygalacturonase (1,4‐α‐d‐galacturonan glycanohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.15), pectinesterase (pectin pectylhydrolase; EC 3.1.1.11) and pectin lyase (1,4‐6‐O‐methyl‐α‐d‐galacturonan lyase; EC 4.2.2.10) activities is produced with the non‐genetically modified Aspergillus niger strain CCTCC M 2023236 by Suntaq ...

Plant Regeneration and In Vitro Growth Performance of Male-Sterile Somatic Plantlets of Sugi (Japanese Cedar, Cryptomeria japonica) Derived from Different Embryogenic Cell Lines

open access: yes, 2021
With the spread of pollinosis caused by sugi (Japanese cedar, Cryptomeria japonica) pollen, the use of pollen-free somatic seedlings of sugi is expected in Japan.

New Allergens Approved by the WHO/IUIS Allergen Nomenclature Sub‐Committee in 2021–2024 and Their Significance for Future Diagnostics, Regulation, and Research. An EAACI Task Force Report

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 3, Page 684-699, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The WHO/IUIS Allergen Nomenclature Sub‐Committee is an international body of experts that maintains the systematic nomenclature of allergenic proteins by assigning official names to newly identified allergens submitted by researchers. Here, we summarize the data on new allergens approved between 2021 and 2024.

Lignocellulosics in an ionic liquid, 1-ethylpyridinium chloride: reaction behavior and ion adsorption properties of corresponding humins

open access: yesJournal of Wood Science
Herein, we studied the reaction behavior of cellulose, Japanese beech (Fagus crenata), and Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) in an ionic liquid, 1-ethylpyridinium chloride ([EtPy][Cl]), at 120 °C.

Elution and adsorptive concentration of Japanese cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) pollen allergen in environmental water

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2005
Elution of Japanese cedar pollen allergens (Cry j I and others) from pollen grains and its adsorptive concentration onto hydrophobic and hydrophilic surfaces were investigated using the surface plasmon resonance technique. Results showed that the allergen elution was obviously enhanced when the ion concentration was higher than that within the human ...
