Heterophyllous Shoots of Japanese Larch Trees: The Seasonal and Yearly Variation in CO2 Assimilation Capacity of the Canopy Top with Changing Environment [PDF]
Japanese larch (Larix kaempferi = L. leptolepis) is often characterized by its high growth rate with heterophyllous shoots, but the functional differences of heterophyllous shoots still remain unclear. Recently, abrupt high temperature and drought during

Pest categorisation of Mimela testaceipes [PDF]
The EFSA Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation of Mimela testaceipes (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae), the striated chafer, for the EU, following a commodity risk assessment of dwarfed Pinus parviflora grafted onto P.

To compare the wood quality of Dahurian larch and Japanese larch growing in Korea, the physical and mechanical properties were examined using the Korean standards. The proportion of heartwood was 82% and 72% in Dahurian and Japanese larch, respectively. The percentage of latewood was 42% in Dahurian larch and 35% in Japanese larch.

With the increasing popularity of cross-laminated timber (CLT) constructions around the world, there have been attempts to produce CLT using local wood species in different countries, such as Japanese larch (Larix kaempferi (Lamb.) Carr.) in China. Thus,

The age-related expression patterns of Larix kaempferi AP2 subfamily genes and functional dissection of LkTOE1-2 in seed formation and germination [PDF]
Conifers pose challenges for breeding programs due to their extended vegetative phases. Despite the critical role of APETALA2 (AP2) in regulating phase transitions, the AP2/ERF superfamily remains largely unexplored in gymnosperms. Here, the first genome-

Briquetting from Japanese larch and Hyunsasi poplar
Densified fuels from biomass are widely used in North America and Europe as a regenerable and clean bioenergy. In this study, the fuel characteristics and densification characteristics of Japanese larch and Hyunsasi poplar were studied using a piston-type briquetting machine. The effects of pressure, pressure holding time, species, and particle size on
