Programmable Crack Networks for Wide‐Range and Reversible Strain Sensing in Vertically Oriented van der Waals Molybdenum Disulfide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Vertically oriented van der Waals MoS2 thin films enable a mechanically programmable crack network for strain sensing. The initial mechanical programming protocol establishes a programmed crack configuration along weak interlayer and interdomain interfaces.

Copper Electroplated TPMS Polymer Lattices for Lightweight Absorption Dominant Electromagnetic Interference Shielding

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Copper electroplating transforms lightweight 3D‐printed TPMS polymer lattices into effective electromagnetic shields. Topology, relative density, and conductive seed layer continuity govern copper penetration, electrical resistance, and attenuation. SEA consistently exceeds SER, while 35% RD Diamond lattice gives the best performance, reaching 48.72 dB

Microwall‐Integrated Terahertz Metasurfaces for Spatially Guided Label‐Free Sensing of Micrometer‐Scale Plastic Particles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A THz metasurface device integrating a metal–dielectric–metal resonator with microwall‐defined recessed regions enables spatially guided, label‐free sensing of micrometer‐scale plastic particles. The as‐fabricated devices exhibit distinct THz reflection resonances for 3.1‐µm polystyrene particles and a concentration‐dependent resonance‐frequency‐shift ...

Large‐Area Flat Optics Color Routing in Tilted Arrays of 2D Semiconductor Nanostripes

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a scalable flat optics platform exploiting self‐organised ion‐beam sputtering and maskless glancing‐angle deposition to fabricate centimetre‐scale arrays of tilted MoS2 nanostripes. The engineered geometry activates Rayleigh anomalies, guided modes, and Mie resonances, enabling highly directional color routing and enhanced light harvesting ...

Innovation and all that jazz: an exploration of jazz as a medium for learning about innovation [PDF]

open access: yes
The research study discussed in this paper is centrally concerned with perception and understanding of innovation and association with the concept in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). lt is with particular reference to jazz, as a metaphor for

Multiple Scattering Model for the Coherent Optical Response of Correlated Disordered Plasmonic Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered plasmonic metasurfaces enable advanced control over light scattering through disorder engineering. A theoretical model based on multiple scattering theory is developed to predict the coherent reflection and transmission of light from disordered metasurfaces with arbitrary pair correlations.

Breaking Optical Transparency and Electromagnetic Performance Trade‐Offs for Transparent Reflective Metasurfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A theory‐guided magnetoelectric metasurface design breaks the conventional optical transparency and electromagnetic performance trade‐offs. By preserving the electric and magnetic current paths required for efficient reflection through fine‐metal‐line structure, the developed transparent reflective metasurface achieves high optical transparency without
