When a high-speed water jet is injected into water through a nozzle, cavitation is generated in the nozzle and/or shear layer around the jet. A jet with cavitation is called a “cavitating jet”.

QCD-aware recursive neural networks for jet physics [PDF]
Recent progress in applying machine learning for jet physics has been built upon an analogy between calorimeters and images. In this work, we present a novel class of recursive neural networks built instead upon an analogy between QCD and natural ...

Jet reconstruction and jet properties at HERA
We discuss jet reconstruction methods with respect to their suitability forep collisions at HERA and study the expected properties of such jets. The results are based on complete event simulation using current models of jet evolution and hadronization in combination with experimentally tested jet algorithms.

Mid-Latitude Jet Response to Pan-Arctic and Regional Arctic Warming in Idealized GCM
To study the dynamical mechanism by which Arctic amplification affects extreme weather events in mid-latitude, we investigated the local and remote circulation response to pan-Arctic and regional Arctic thermal forcing.

Quantification of the Jet Function of a Jet Stylet
The concept and use of a jet stylet as an additional safety measure during tracheal extubation of patients in whom subsequent ventilation and/or reintubation of the trachea may be difficult has recently been described. If jet ventilation through a jet stylet could provide for effective gas exchange, it would allow additional time to assess the need for

Numerical Analysis and Experimental Test for the Development of a Small Shaped Charge
Currently, shaped charges are widely used in many fields of science and industry. Due to the high efficiency of piercing materials with high strength and hardness, shaped charges are commonly used in mining, military and for structural damage.

The limb-brightened jet of M87 down to the 7 Schwarzschild radii scale [PDF]
Messier 87 (M 87) is one of the nearest radio galaxies with a prominent jet extending from sub-pc to kpc scales. Because of its proximity and the large mass of its central black hole (BH), it is one of the best radio sources for the study of jet ...

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.
