Redesigning TBM-1.7 Combustion Unit to Expand the Temperature Range
It is shown that the transition to a new low-temperature method of convective drying leads to a reduction in grain drying costs. The implementation of this method is confirmed to require expanded temperatures generated by the TBM-1.7 furnace unit that the

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Jet fragmentation functions for Z-tagged jets
Recently the LHCb collaboration has measured both longitudinal and transverse momentum distribution of hadrons produced inside $Z$-tagged jets in proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider. These distributions are commonly referred to as jet fragmentation functions and are characterized by the longitudinal momentum fraction $z_h$ of the jet ...

Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

From Jet Counting to Jet Vetoes
The properties of multi-jet events impact many LHC analysis. The exclusive number of jets at hadron colliders can be described in terms of two simple patterns: staircase scaling and Poisson scaling. In photon plus jets production we can interpolate between the two patterns using simple kinematic cuts.

A combined finite element and phase‐field approach predicts the evolution of microstructure during the directional solidification of Ni‐based superalloys. The model reveals how withdrawal rate, temperature gradient, and wall thickness control the dendrite spacing, highlighting the strong effect of surface regions in thin sections where dendrite growth ...

Experimental Study of Thermal Runaway Process of 50 Ah Prismatic Nickel-Rich Battery
Hazardous combustion and explosions during thermal runaway (TR) processes in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) present a significant limitation to their widespread adoption. The objective of this study was to quantitatively reveal the eruption characteristics
