The Importance of Thermodynamic Data for Pyrrole Pyrolysis and Combustion Chemistry

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
High level ab initio quantum chemical computations with ORCA 6.1.1 are done to derive enthalpy and entropy of formation at 298.15 K for 32 species that include both radicals and stable molecules relevant to the pyrolysis and combustion of pyrrole. The effects of thermochemical data on chemical model performance are assessed.

Continuous‐Flow Conversion of Waste Polystyrene Into Styrene Monomers Utilizing the Microwave‐Concentration Effect on Spherical Activated Carbon

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 18, 28 September 2026.
Waste polystyrene (PS) is continuously converted into styrene monomer using a microwave (MW)‐heated cartridge packed with spherical activated CBs. Localized heating in the CB bed and backpressure regulation (BPR) enable additive‐free depolymerization with up to 76% styrene yield from diverse PS feedstocks. Chemical recycling of polystyrene (PS) by high‐
