A fixed-parameter algorithm for a routing open shop problem: unit processing times, few machines and locations [PDF]
The open shop problem is to find a minimum makespan schedule to process each job $J_i$ on each machine $M_q$ for $p_{iq}$ time such that, at any time, each machine processes at most one job and each job is processed by at most one machine. We study a problem variant in which the jobs are located in the vertices of an edge-weighted graph.

Abstract Introduction Many artificial intelligence (AI) solutions have been proposed to enhance the radiotherapy (RT) workflow, but limited applications have been implemented to date, suggesting an implementation gap. One contributing factor to this gap is a misalignment between AI systems and their users.

On the variable common due date, minimal tardy jobs bicriteria two-machine flow shop problem with ordered machines [PDF]
We consider a special case of the ordinary NP-hard two-machine flow shop problem with the objective of determining simultaneously a minimal common due date and the minimal number of tardy jobs. In [S. S. Panwalkar, C. Koulamas, An O(n^2) algorithm for the variable common due date, minimal tardy jobs bicriteria two-machine flow shop problem with ordered

Tabu search algorithms for job-shop problems with a single transport robot [PDF]
We consider a generalized job-shop problem where the jobs additionally have to be transported between the machines by a single transport robot. Besides transportation times for the jobs, empty moving times for the robot are taken into account.

Abstract Introduction The use of radioactive materials in the United States has been tightly regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other entities for many decades. In 2015, however, the Joint Commission began to require hospital‐based nuclear medicine departments to conduct shielding designs and evaluations for radioactive material areas ...

Scheduling of job shop, make-to-order industries with recirculation and assembly: discrete versus continuous time models [PDF]
This work studies the performance of two Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) models to solve scheduling problems in a flexible job shop environment with recirculation and assembly using a due-date-based objective function. The models convey different
