Dynamic modeling of spatial parallel mechanism with multi-spherical joint clearances
The parallel mechanism has advantages of the high speed, high precision, strong carrying capacity, and high structural rigidity. Most of the previous studies concerning the dynamic modeling focused on planar mechanisms with revolute clearance joints or ...

Control of mechanical joints that have joint clearance
Joint clearance is a defect that is present in all mechanical joints in every mechanism. Joint clearances for revolute joints result from the relatively small difference between the dimensions of diameters of two concentric bodies which interrelated to each other. Manufacturing errors, tolerances, wear, and material deformation lead to joint clearances.

Non-Uniform Clearance between Rotor Surfaces and Its Effect on Machine Performance in Twin-Screw Compressors [PDF]
The performance of twin-screw compressors is primarily affected by the clearance between a pair of meshing rotors. This study proposes a method for calculating the normal clearance along the contact line between rotors using two normal rack curves, which

Analysis of the joint clearance effects on a compliant spatial mechanism
This study investigates the dynamics of a partly compliant mechanism with joint clearance. A spatial slider-crank mechanism is used as a numerical example.

Objective The aim of this study was to test the hypothesis that multijoint osteoarthritis would modify the relation between time and frailty progression, in which more affected joints would lead to larger declines over six years compared to those without osteoarthritis using data from the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging.

Biomedical research involving US veterans continues to advance health care beyond the Veterans Health Administration. This is particularly true in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), where veteran‐centric research has uncovered novel insights into pathogenesis, risk factors, and disease manifestations, informing clinical care and research across both veteran ...

Automated Hand Flexor Tendon–Thickness Measurement in Systemic Sclerosis
Objective Systemic sclerosis (SSc) can affect flexor tendons, contributing to hand function problems and reduced quality of life. Tendon changes are currently assessed with ultrasonography and measured manually, a time‐consuming process prone to interobserver variability.

Assembly problem of overconstrained and clearance-free parallel manipulators
To avoid deteriorating the mechanism's performance, joint clearance can be eliminated by preloading the pairing elements of the joint. However, this paper proves rigorously that in the real world, the unavoidable assembly and manufacturing errors will ...
