Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

A Practical Noise2Noise Denoising Pipeline for High‐Throughput Raman Spectroscopy
A lightweight and reproducible denoising pipeline for high‐throughput Raman spectroscopy is introduced, based on a 1D convolutional autoencoder trained with a Noise2Noise strategy. Using only repeated short‐exposure acquisitions, the method suppresses stochastic noise without reference spectra, enabling reliable spectral reconstruction while preserving

Joint Source/Channel Coding and MAP Decoding of Arithmetic Codes [PDF]
In this paper, a novel maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimation approach is employed for error correction of arithmetic codes with a forbidden symbol. The system is founded on the principle of joint source channel coding, which allows one to unify the arithmetic decoding and error correction tasks into a single process, with superior performance compared ...

Geometry‐driven design of soft cellular metamaterials is systematically investigated by combining experiments, finite element modeling, and statistical prediction. The study quantifies how unit cell geometry and material properties govern stiffness, instability, densification, and energy absorption.

Limits on the robustness of MIMO joint source-channel codes [PDF]
In this paper, the theoretical limits on the robustness of MIMO joint source channel codes is investigated. The case in which a single joint source channel code is used for the entire range of SNRs and for all levels of required fidelity is considered.

Encoded Cell‐Material Interactions to Reroute Cytokine Signaling for Regenerative Medicine
We present native MATRIX (Material Activated To Regulate Inducible gene eXpression), a co‐engineered material‐cell platform. Surfaces functionalized with antibodies for endogenous soluble ligands (e.g., IL‐1β or IL‐6) capture and immobilize ligands for presentation to a cognate, engineered synthetic Notch receptor, releasing a transcription factor (TF)

Joint source-channel secrecy using hybrid coding [PDF]
The secrecy performance of a source-channel model is studied in the context of lossy source compression over a noisy broadcast channel. The source is causally revealed to the eavesdropper during decoding. The fidelity of the transmission to the legitimate receiver and the secrecy performance at the eavesdropper are both measured by a distortion metric.
