Library Acquisitions: Practice & Theory, 1993Electronic journals are the serials equivalent of Detroit’s concept cars: fast, flashy, and future-oriented. They offer high-speed and high-end performance at a currently low cost. There still are some bugs to be worked out, among them transmission problems, long-term maintenance, ownership and property rights, and questionable respectability.

Archives of Surgery, 1973To the Editor .—It is astonishing to me that the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association would vote to do away with the automatic subscription to a specialty journal. The variousArchiveshave allowed each member to concentrate on his special interest, and the JAMA has represented medicine in general.
