Ecology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.We applied the two‐stage, AI‐based TOFSI approach to test automatic pollen recognition with fossil pollen samples. The algorithm performs very well for all major pollen types and other non‐pollen object classes, suggesting that such tools have the potential to substantially increase the efficiency of pollen analysis.
