Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Bismut–Elworthy–Li formula for subordinated Brownian motion applied to hedging financial derivatives
The objective of the paper is to extend the results in Fournié, Lasry, Lions, Lebuchoux, and Touzi (1999), Cass and Fritz (2007) for continuous processes to jump processes based on the Bismut–Elworthy–Li (BEL) formula in Elworthy and Li (1994).

Maximum principles for jump diffusion processes with infinite horizon [PDF]
We prove maximum principles for the problem of optimal control for a jump diffusion with infinite horizon and partial information. The results are applied to partial information optimal consumption and portfolio problems in infinite ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Reflected Diffusion Processes with Jumps
In this paper, the authors study the question of building solutions of stochastic differential equations with reflecting boundary conditions, corresponding to reflected diffusion processes with jumps. To do so, they adapt to the case of jump processes the penalty argument used by many authors.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Integration by Parts and Martingale Representation for a Markov Chain
Integration-by-parts formulas for functions of fundamental jump processes relating to a continuous-time, finite-state Markov chain are derived using Bismut's change of measures approach to Malliavin calculus.

A pure-jump mean-reverting short rate model
A new multi-factor short rate model is presented which is bounded from below by a real-valued function of time. The mean-reverting short rate process is modeled by a sum of pure-jump Ornstein–Uhlenbeck processes such that the related bond prices possess ...
