Ophthalmology, 1979The appearance of the anterior chamber angle shows considerable variation in eyes with glaucoma caused by congenital or developmental causes. Goniotomy for Juvenile Open-Angle Glaucoma
Journal of Glaucoma, 2010To report the surgical results of goniotomy surgery for patients with acquired juvenile open-angle glaucoma (JOAG).The medical records of 10 patients with bilateral acquired JOAG were reviewed to learn the results of goniotomy for their glaucoma. Twenty goniotomy procedures were performed for 17 eyes.

The treatment began in the very moment of the diagnosis but the lack of compliance, as well as the associated risk factors, led to a evolution difficult to control only through medical therapy, which is why we also used laser and surgical treatment.

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1931Among the hereditary diseases of the eye, glaucoma has a place. Benedikt,1in 1842, reported the case of an elderly man with gout and glaucoma. Two daughters of this man had glaucoma; they were dark eyed. One son had gout but escaped glaucoma because he was blue eyed. The relationship of gout to glaucoma was discussed by Bull2in 1909.
