Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Near-infrared K-band Spectroscopic Investigation of Seyfert 2 Nuclei in the CfA and 12 Micron Samples

open access: yes, 2004
We present near-infrared K-band slit spectra of the nuclei of 25 Seyfert 2 galaxies in the CfA and 12 micron samples. The strength of the CO absorption features at 2.3-2.4 micron produced by stars is measured in terms of a spectroscopic CO index. A clear

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Development of a low-noise 1 × 3 mosaic HgCdTe camera with high-precision thermal and flatness control for K-band imaging

open access: yesAIP Advances
The K-band (2.0–2.4 μm) is crucial for observing astrophysical processes obscured by interstellar dust, such as star formation and active galactic nuclei.

Hot Carrier Degradation in Si n-MOSFETs at Cryogenic Temperatures

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society
This study experimentally investigated hot carrier degradation (HCD) in Si-MOSFETs at cryogenic temperatures. Stress was applied to the devices at 4 K and 300 K, followed by temperature-dependent characterization from 4 K to 300 K to evaluate the ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Probing room temperature indirect and minimum direct band gaps of h-BN

open access: yesApplied Physics Express
Hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) has attracted considerable interest as an ultrawide bandgap (UWBG) semiconductor. Experimental studies focused on the detailed near band-edge structure of h-BN at room temperature are still lacking.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Analytic Analysis of the Features of GaAs/Si Radial Heterojunctions: Influence of Temperature and Concentration

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics
In this article, we analytically study the electrophysical features of the p-Si/n-GaAs radial heterojunction (RHJ) over a temperature range of 50 K to 500 K, in increments of 50 K while considering various doping concentrations.
