On the conditional distribution of a multivariate Normal given a transformation – the linear case

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
We show that the orthogonal projection operator onto the range of the adjoint T⁎ of a linear operator T can be represented as UT, where U is an invertible linear operator. Given a Normal random vector Y and a linear operator T, we use this representation

Mapping the evolution of mitochondrial complex I through structural variation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Respiratory complex I (CI) is crucial for bioenergetic metabolism in many prokaryotes and eukaryotes. It is composed of a conserved set of core subunits and additional accessory subunits that vary depending on the organism. Here, we categorize CI subunits from available structures to map the evolution of CI across eukaryotes. Respiratory complex I (CI)

Statistical Properties and Applications of k-Record Values Based on the Generalized Lindley Distribution

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics
This research explores the characteristics and uses of k-record values derived from the generalized Lindley distribution, an adaptable extension of the traditional Lindley distribution.

Bias of group generators in finite and profinite groups: known results and open problems [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Group Theory, 2015
We analyze some properties of the distribution Q G,k of the first component in a k -tuple chosen uniformly‎ ‎in the set of all the k -tuples generating a finite group G (the limiting distribution of the product replacement algorithm)‎. ‎In particular‎,

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

La loi de Pascal restreinte et ses cas particuliers; Constrained Pascal distribution and its special cases [PDF]

open access: yesTutorials in Quantitative Methods for Psychology, 2012
Pascal distribution, Pa(r, /pi), also called Negative binomial distribution, pertains to the trial number n at which the first r successes have been obtained, each trial being the realization of a Bernoulli variable with success probability /pi.

Inference Based on k-Record Values from Generalized Exponential Distribution

open access: yesStatistica, 2018
In this paper, the lower k-record values arising from a two parameter generalized exponential distribution is considered. The maximum likelihood estimators for the shape parameter and scale parameter are obtained.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
