A link between increased temperature and avian body condition in a logged tropical forest
Abstract The combined effects of anthropogenic disturbances, such as logging and climate change, remain poorly understood; yet, they are the main threats to tropical biodiversity. Most tropical African countries lack long‐term climate data, so climate impacts on biodiversity cannot be assessed.

Intrinsic specificity of a ‘core’ TIP60 acetyltransferase complex in Drosophila
The intrinsic substrate selectivity of the Drosophila TIP60‐core acetyltransferase was determined using synthetic nucleosome arrays. Targeted mass spectrometry revealed site‐specific acetylation of histones H2A, H2A.V, and H4, uncovering distinct acetylation rates and patterns across individual lysines.

K11 - Feasibility study for damper between tower and bridge girder, phase I [PDF]
This note describes the phase 1 of a feasibility study for a damper between tower and bridge girder. For this alternative K11 concept it is proposed to replace the girder-tower connection in K11_07, by two passive viscous dampers between tower and bridge

ABSTRACT Permafrost is rapidly degrading in the sporadic zone, including palsa mires in Scandinavia. Peatlands in the area have likely accumulated heavy metals from atmospheric deposition of industrial contaminants in the wider region. As the palsa mire chemical composition is not well known, and in other permafrost regions the permafrost thaw may ...
