High and low frequency torsional absorptions in nematic K21

In total 53 budgerigars (Melopsittacus undulatus) were divided into six groups and orally infected with a suspension of oocysts of low virulent Toxoplasma gondii K21 strain in the doses of 10(2), 10(3), 10(4), 10(5) and 10(6), respectively. Blood was collected from the birds prior to the inoculation and then on days 10, 20 and 30 post infection.

CCQM-K21 Key Comparison Determination of pp-DDT in fish oil
Metrologia, 2003A key comparison on the determination of (pp'-dichlorodiphenyl) trichloroethane (pp'-DDT) in a fish oil matrix has been successfully completed. Nine NMIs participated in this key comparison and used the technique of isotope dilution gas-chromatography mass spectrometry (ID/GC/MS) for the determinations.

Summary Klebsiella pneumoniae strain PAP996 was previously shown to secrete fatty acylated, aggregated (micellar) pullulanase only after the end of exponential growth. Here we show that the closely related strain K21 secretes large amounts of unacylated, non‐aggregated (monomeric) pullulanase during exponential growth.

Thus, the capsular polysaccharide from Klebsiella K21 yields a linear pentasaccharide, and that from Klebsiella K32, a linear tetrasaccharide.

Klebsiella plasmid K21 is not involved in the aetiology of ankylosing spondylitis.
Experimental and clinical immunogenetics, 1990The possibility that a plasmid carried by Klebsiella pneumoniae plays a role in the pathogenesis of ankylosing spondylitis was explored. K. pneumoniae K21 contains a congruent to 25-kb plasmid, but this plasmid is not present in lymphocyte DNAs of ankylosing spondylitis HLA-B27 patients, as demonstrated by molecular hybridization experiments.
