CLASSIFICATION OF BLOOD DONOR DATA USING C4.5 AND K-NEAREST NEIGHBOR METHODS (CASE STUDY: UTD PMI BALI PROVINCE)

open access: yesPilar Nusa Mandiri, 2022
Classification of blood donor data at UTD PMI Bali Province by applying the C4.5 and K-Nearest Neighbor algorithms. The number of blood donor data donors is 34,948, of which 90% of the data, namely 31,454 is used as training data.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A Continuous k-Nearest Neighbor Query Method for Moving Data in Obstructed Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology, 2018
For the nearest neighbor query problem of continuous moving objects in spatio-temporal databases, the COpKNN (continuous obstructed possible k-nearest neighbor) query is proposed: in a two-dimensional space, given a moving query point q, a set of moving ...

A Weighted kNN Fault Detection Based on Multistep Index and Dynamic Neighborhood Scale Under Complex Working Conditions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Fault detection based on $k$ -nearest neighbor (FD- $k$ NN) is one of the most widespread fault detection techniques for industrial processes under complex working conditions, owing to its characteristic of local modeling.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Fast Approximate Complete-data k-nearest-neighbor Estimation

open access: yesAustrian Journal of Statistics, 2020
We introduce a fast method to estimate the complete-data set of k-nearest-neighbors.This is equivalent to finding an estimate of the k-nearest-neighbor graph of the data. The method relies on random normal projections.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...
