Effects of KAATSU Training on Plasma Growth Hormone Concentration in Healthy Untrained Men

open access: yes
|The ...

Initial KAATSU Cuff Tightness: Effect of Limb Anthropometrics on Blood Flow Restriction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
INTRODUCTION KAATSU training involves low load (20%1RM) resistance exercise combined with partial blood flow restriction (BFR). BFR is achieved by positioning a specially designed pneumatic cuff around the proximal aspect of the limb, cinching it to an ...

Skeletal muscle size and circulating IGF-1 are increased after two weeks of twice daily "kaatsu" resistance training [PDF]

open access: yes
This study investigated the effects of twice daily sessions of low-intensity resistance training (LIT, 20% of 1-RM) with restriction of muscular venous blood flow (namely "LIT-Kaatsu" training) for two weeks on skeletal muscle size and circulating ...

Electromyographic responses of arm and chest muscle during bench press exercise with and without KAATSU

open access: yesInternational Journal of KAATSU Training Research, 2006
The purpose of this study was to compare the EMG activity of blood flow restricted (limb) and nonrestricted (trunk) muscles during multi-joint exercise with and without KAATSU. Twelve (6 women and 6 men) healthy college students [means (SD) age: 24.1 (3.5) yrs] performed 4 sets (30, 15, 15, and 15 reps) of flat bench press exercise (30% of a ...
