Abstract The production, attenuation, and absorption of secondary cosmic rays (SCR) are influenced by atmospheric parameters such as air pressure and temperature. To reliably correlate SCR flux measurements with atmospheric ionization driven by energetic particle precipitation, these dependencies must be quantified.

Overlapping Land Tenure Stories: Ambiguity in Port Vila's Urban Precarity
ABSTRACT Migrants to Port Vila from elsewhere in Vanuatu and the customary owners of the land to which they move make agreements about land tenure. However, land can hold multiple meanings which can both support and undermine attempts to create durable agreements.

Exploring Dark Photon Production and Kinetic Mixing Constraints in Heavy‐Ion Collisions
ABSTRACT Vector U‐bosons, often referred to as “dark photons,” are potential candidates for mediating dark matter interactions. In this study, we outline a procedure to derive theoretical constraints on the upper bound of the kinetic mixing parameter ϵ2MU$$ {\upvarepsilon}^2\left({M}_U\right) $$ using dilepton data from heavy‐ion from SIS to RHIC ...

A Brief, Biased View of Neutron Star Cooling
ABSTRACT This is a concise and non‐technical review of topics related to neutron star (NS) cooling, for both young NSs and NSs in low‐mass x‐ray binaries. Neutrino emission from the NS core drives cooling rates, via different processes including Urca processes and pair breaking and formation at the neutron superfluid critical temperature.

Cylindrically Symmetric Diffusion Model for Relativistic Heavy‐Ion Collisions
To account for particle production in relativistic heavy‐ion collisions at the Large Hadron Collider, a relativistic diffusion model with cylindrical symmetry is derived from nonequilibrium–statistical considerations. It propagates an initial state based on quantum chromodynamics in time toward a thermal equilibrium limit.

We review some recent theoretical results on rare kaon decays. Particular attention is devoted to establish the short distance (direct CP violating) contribution to K_L => ^0 e \bar{e}. This is achieved by a careful study of the long distance part. As byproduct, we discuss interesting chiral tests.

CP VIOLATION IN KAON DECAYS [PDF]
We review the Standard Model predictions of CP violation in kaon decays. We present an elementary introduction to Chiral Perturbation Theory, four-quark effective Hamiltonians and the relation among them. Particular attention is devoted to K→3π, K→ 2πγ and [Formula: see text] decays.
