EPJ Featured Talk: First direct measurement of radial flow in heavy-ion collisions with ALICE [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
This work presents measurements of the transverse-momentum-dependent observable v0(pT) as a novel probe of radial expansion dynamics in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector. Results are reported for inclusive charged hadrons, pions,

A precision relation between Γ(K → μ + μ − )(t) and B K L → μ + μ − / B K L → γγ $$ \mathcal{B}\left({K}_L\to {\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right)/\mathcal{B}\left({K}_L\to \gamma \gamma \right) $$

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We find that the phase appearing in the unitarity relation between B K L → μ + μ − $$ \mathcal{B}\left({K}_L\to {\mu}^{+}{\mu}^{-}\right) $$ and B K L → γγ $$ \mathcal{B}\left({K}_L\to \gamma \gamma \right) $$ is equal to the phase shift in the ...

Investigating the E2 Nuclear Resonance Effects in Kaonic Atoms: The KAMEO Proposal [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2023
The E2 nuclear resonance effect in kaonic atoms occurs when the energy of atomic de-excitation closely matches the energy of nuclear excitation, leading to the attenuation of some X-ray lines in the resonant isotope target.

Role of strangeness to the neutron star mass and cooling

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Neutron star provides unique environments for the investigation of the physics of extreme dense matter beyond normal nuclear saturation density. In such high density environments, hadrons with strange quarks are expected to play very important role in ...

Pion–kaon femtoscopy and the lifetime of the hadronic phase in Pb−Pb collisions at sNN=2.76 TeV

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2021
In this paper, the first femtoscopic analysis of pion–kaon correlations at the LHC is reported. The analysis was performed on the Pb–Pb collision data at sNN=2.76 TeV recorded with the ALICE detector.

Kaon-nucleus Drell-Yan processes and kaon structure functions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1996
We investigate the information which could be obtained from Drell-Yan processes with sufficiently intense beams of charged kaons on isoscalar targets. It is found that combinations of $K^+$ and $K^-$ Drell-Yan measurements on isoscalar nuclear targets would allow one to extract the kaon sea quark distributions.

CP VIOLATION IN KAON DECAYS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 1998
We review the Standard Model predictions of CP violation in kaon decays. We present an elementary introduction to Chiral Perturbation Theory, four-quark effective Hamiltonians and the relation among them. Particular attention is devoted to K→3π, K→ 2πγ and [Formula: see text] decays.

Kaons and quark-gluon plasma [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 1985
The relative multiplicity abundance ${\mathrm{K}}^{+}$/${\mathrm{\ensuremath{\pi}}}^{+}$ and ${\mathrm{K}}^{+}$/${\mathrm{p}}^{+}$ arising in quark-gluon plasma formed in high energy nuclear collisions is determined. It is shown how these ratios assist in discriminating between various reaction channels.

Weak kaon production off the nucleon and Watson's theorem

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2021
We have improved the tree-level model of Ref. [1] for weak production of kaons off nucleons by partially restoring unitarity. This is achieved by imposing Watson's theorem to the dominant vector and axial-vector contributions in appropriate angular ...
