A CORRELATION BETWEEN THE KAPPA NUMBER AND THE VENTORIM INDEX IN THE BLEACHING PROCESS [PDF]
The determination of the kappa number in the bleaching process is typically conducted with a pulp quantity between 3 and 4 grams, allowing for the calculation of values above four. However, after the oxidative extraction stage with hydrogen peroxide, the

The Effect of H-Factor on Kappa Number and Viscosity in Continuous Digester [PDF]
One of the most important steps in pulping is the cooking process, which serves to separate the cellulose and hemicellulose from lignin and other by-products.

Impact of impregnation on high kappa number hardwood pulps
Mixed US southern hardwood chips were impregnated and cooked under various conditions in the laboratory. Kappa numbers between 15 and 55 were obtained. The reject content, kappa number, and yield were studied as a function of time, temperature, and alkali charge in the cooking.

The number of L_{infty,kappa}-equivalent non-isomorphic models for kappa weakly compact [PDF]
For a cardinal kappa and a model M of cardinality kappa let No(M) denote the number of non-isomorphic models of cardinality kappa which are L_{infty,kappa}--equivalent to M. In [Sh:133] Shelah established that when kappa is a weakly compact cardinal and mu<=kappa is a nonzero cardinal, there exists a model M of cardinality kappa with No(M)=mu.

Effect of Kappa Number Variation on Modified Pulping of Eucalyptus
This work evaluated the impact of brownstock pulp kappa number variations on modified pulping process, oxygen delignification, bleaching, and the physical characteristics on bleached pulp.

The impact of kappa number composition on eucalyptus kraft pulp bleachability [PDF]
Consumption of chemicals during ECF bleaching of kraft pulp correlates reasonably well with kappa number, which measures with KMnO4 the total amount of oxidizable material in the pulp. However, the method does not distinguish between the oxidizable material in residual lignin and other structures susceptible to oxidation, such as hexenuronic acids ...

Improvement of Pulping Uniformity by Measurement of Single Fiber Kappa Number [PDF]
A method to measure the kappa of single fibers by staining with a fluorescent dye, Acridine Orange (AO), has been developed. This method is now applied to develop and automated flow-through instrument that permits routine kappa analysis on thousands of images of AO stained fibers to give the fiber kappa number distribution of a pulp sample in a few ...

Effect of magnetic field on the charge and thermal transport properties of hot and dense QCD matter
We have studied the effect of strong magnetic field on the charge and thermal transport properties of hot QCD matter at finite chemical potential. For this purpose, we have calculated the electrical conductivity ($$\sigma _\mathrm{el}$$ σel ) and the ...
