Cardinal invariants for $\kappa$-box products: weight, density character and Suslin number

Dissertationes Mathematicae, 2016
Let \((X_{I})_{\kappa}\) denote the topological space \(X_{I}=\Pi_{i\in I}X_{i}\) with the \(\kappa\)-box topology, where \(\kappa\geq\omega\). In this paper, the authors discuss the weight \(w\), the density \(d\), and the Suslin number \(S\) of \(\kappa\)-box products. The main results of this paper are as follows: Theorem 3.1.10(b).

Kappa Number Prediction by Hybrid Model for Batch Pulp Cooking Process

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2004
Abstract In batch pulp cooking process the wood chips are converted into pulp by lignin dissolution in cooking acid. The percentage of non-dissolved lignin is often expressed by so called Kappa number. To obtain desired quality of the pulp, Kappa number of the pulp should be decreased to the desired value at the end of batch cycle.

Online Monitoring of Kappa Number during Batch Pulping by Visible Spectroscopy

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2009
Aiming at the difficulties and problems of online measurement of pulp Kappa number during batch pulping, a novel measuring idea was proposed to predict the lignin content in pulp through the measur...

Modelling Kappa Number and Pulp Viscosity in Industrial Oxygen Delignification Systems

Chemical Engineering Research and Design, 2007
Predictions of a mathematical model for oxygen delignification are compared with measurements made at three mills having system designs and operating conditions covering those used industrially. Pulp samples were taken for analysis throughout each system, and most importantly, immediately following mixing.

Sets of immunoglobulin V kappa genes homologous to ten cloned V kappa sequences: implications for the number of germline V kappa genes.

Journal of molecular and applied genetics, 1982
To count V kappa genes homologous to particular V kappa nucleotide sequences, thereby permitting estimates for the total V kappa repertoire, we hybridized 10 cloned V kappa cDNA sequences to restriction fragments of mouse embryo DNA (Southern blots). Particular probes labeled up to 17 fragments, of which up to 8 were strongly labeled.

Kappa Number Profile Control for Continuous Digesters

1998
Continuous digester control for improved uniformity of pulp and fiber properties is gaining more attention as strict final product quality needs and tighter environmental regulations demand much higher performance standards from strategic manufacturing processes.

The contribution to kappa number from hexeneuronic acid groups in pulp xylan

Carbohydrate Research, 1997
The kappa number of chemical pulps is widely used both in mill operation and in laboratory work as a measure of the degree of delignification in pulping, oxygen delignification, and prebleaching.

Effects of mu, kappa and sigma opioids on fixed consecutive number responding in rats

Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior, 1987
Responding in rats was maintained under a fixed consecutive number 20 schedule. Under this schedule, at least 20 consecutive responses were required on one lever before a response on a second lever produced food. Morphine, buprenorphine, ethylketocyclazocine (ECK), N-allylnormetazocine (NANM) and d-cyclazocine all caused dose-dependent decreases in ...

Model-based computer control of Kappa number in magnefite pulp cooking

Proceedings of IEEE International Conference on Control and Applications CCA-94, 1994
The aim of this contribution is to present a model-based system for Kappa control in batch pulp cooking. Kappa is one of the parameters that reflect quality of the pulp. In order to keep the quality uniform, Kappa value at the end of the batch should dissipate as little as possible.

Control of continuous digester kappa number using generalized model predictive control

TAPPI Journal
Kappa number variability at the digester impacts pulp yield, physical strength properties, and lignin content for downstream delignification processing. Regulation of the digester kappa number is therefore of great importance to the pulp and paper industry.
